Privacy Policy

DeepDive Pool (“the app”) is published by Thumb Coast Tech LLC (“we”, “us”). This policy explains what information the app and this website (deepdivepool.com) handle, where it goes, and the choices you have. The short version: DeepDive Pool has no accounts and no servers that receive your pool data. Your readings stay on your device, or in your own iCloud account if you turn on sync.
Information We Collect
Pool controller data
The app reads your pool controller (for example a Hayward OmniLogic) directly over your home Wi-Fi network. It records readings such as temperatures, salt levels, equipment states, schedules and settings changes. To find the controller, the app looks for it on your local network. It only reads; it never sends control commands.
- This data is stored on your device only. We do not receive it.
- If you purchase DeepDive Pool Unlimited and turn on iCloud sync, the data is also stored in your own private iCloud database, operated by Apple. We cannot access it.
Location
If you allow it, the app uses your location only to recognize when you arrive home, so it can take a fresh reading of your controller. Your home area and location are kept on your device. We never receive your location, and the feature is optional — the app works without it.
Advertising data (free version only)
The free version shows ads served by Google AdMob. AdMob may collect device identifiers, approximate location derived from your IP address, and ad interaction data to show and measure ads. The app asks for your permission through Apple’s App Tracking Transparency prompt before any tracking identifier is used, and, where required (for example in the EU/UK), asks for your consent through Google’s consent tool. If you decline, you may still see non-personalized ads. Purchasing DeepDive Pool Unlimited removes ads entirely.
Purchases
In-app purchases are processed by Apple. We do not receive your name, payment details or Apple ID. The app only checks with Apple whether a purchase is active on your device.
Feature requests
If you send us a request through the form on this website, we receive what you choose to send: your message, the controller you have, and, if you provide them, your name and email address (used only to reply to you). To protect this from spam and abuse, we also record the time of the submission and a one-way hashed form of your IP address, and we limit how many requests can be sent in a short period. The form may use Google reCAPTCHA, which collects device and browser information under Google’s Privacy Policy.
Website
This website does not use advertising or third-party analytics cookies. The request form may load Google reCAPTCHA, as described above. Our web server keeps standard access logs (IP address, browser type, pages requested) for security and troubleshooting, which are retained for a limited time.
How We Use Your Information
- To respond to your support questions and troubleshoot problems you report
- To review feature and controller requests and decide what to build next
- To keep the website and its forms secure and free of spam
- To show ads in the free version of the app (through Google AdMob, as described above)
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your pool data for advertising.

The app and website work with the following third parties:

Data Security
- Your pool data lives on your device and, optionally, in your own iCloud account, protected by Apple’s security.
- Information you send us through this website is transmitted over encrypted HTTPS connections.
- Access to support and feature-request records is restricted to authorized staff.
Data Retention
Pool data stays on your device until you delete it or delete the app. Support and feature requests are kept for as long as they are useful for improving the app, and you can ask us to delete them at any time.
Your Rights and Choices
- Location: turn it off at any time in iOS Settings › DeepDive Pool › Location.
- Tracking: change your choice in iOS Settings › Privacy & Security › Tracking.
- iCloud sync: turn it off in the app’s settings.
- Your data: export it as CSV from the app (Unlimited), or delete it by deleting the app.
- Requests you sent us: write to us at the address below to access, correct or delete anything you sent through the request form.
Children
DeepDive Pool is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to This Policy
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page. Significant changes will also be noted in the app’s release notes.
